27 JUNE 2008: 69 FASHION SHOOT

A two day fashion shoot crammed into one!! This briliiant, high energy shoot really did push my creative juices. With so many clothes to get through and a set to build the photo shoot turned out to be an adrenalin rush, alongside this I undertook the large task of building the set. This had changed from my initial ideas of using a n arts studio, mainly as the last issue featured a fashion shoot in what appears to be more of an artists studio!! Therefore a quick concept change, and inkeeping with the swim-wear theme I bought 100m of muslin fabric and hung it layer after layer, draping it to create shape and with the lighting set up imitating daylight, the aim was to produce a series of images that were airy and light, summery and flowing.

I included various props as the shoot went on, draping a chaise long, using a chair, crates, picture frames and a japanese parasol, combing these with flowing fabrics and beach hair, the set, styling, make-up and hair all worked well together to pull off a real summery swim-wear shoot! Although ideally this would have been done at a beach in a hot country, you can never rely on British Summer time!!

Some of the images are featured in Hair and Beauty and the Fashion portfolios on my site.

Thanks to the team for bringing it all together on the day, I can't emphasize enough the importance of having a excellent make-up artists (like jess), hair stylists and fashion stylists to make a fashion shoot happen.
