When Dave rang me last night to say he’d been working on my blog I quickly went online to have a look and I have to say am pretty chuffed the new look and feel he has given it! Very nice!!
So I thought I’d better post something new on here from a shoot I did on Monday. With the combined efforts of Jessica Nurse make -up, Angel Sayers hair stylist, and Leanne Vasko @Boss Model Management we combined our ideas, wardrobes a random fox and a wonderful set of antlers! It wasn’t all so bizarre!
Full shoot will go into the fashion portfolio soon!
Shoot with Leica M9 and 50mm f.2 Summicron lens
A week or so ago I managed to finally shoot Martha from Boss model management. We’ve been trying to get this shoot together for ages and she was one of the first girls I spoke to when I got back about doing a shoot for my book.
Martha is a real delight to work with, we had loads of fun with the shoot and captured vintage through the decades finishing with Martha as she turned up to the shoot in her stripey cropped jumper and chinos trousers, stripped back and warming.
She’s never quite had a bouffant like it! Thanks to the expertise of make-up and hair stylist Julia Jeckell, Martha acquired even more height to her 5ft10 inch frame.
In The first few shots I wanted to capture Martha appearing to be awkward, as if the model wasn’t quite there in the shoot, with her mind wandering off, distracted by other things. This led through to outdoor shots in a mixture of locations including a gorgeous grassy field at the back of my parents house where Martha was more free and able to add subtle expression and strong body language.
It was great set-building and taking vintage furniture and props from the house into the field or behind the green house, and thanks to Emily we obtained a fantastic vintage wardrobe whilst Dave snapped away in the background to get some nice fly on the wall stuff.
I Loved it and can’t wait to shoot again! The finished story will appear in my fashion portfolio very soon!

It’s a great month for me with this my third published shoot in a row to be released. Iridescent Pop was shot at the back end of Spring with the support from Hasselblad. The images were submitted not long after and I received confirmation that they would be published in the 2nd edition of Posed Magazine, towards the end of July. I have been holding back this project since then knowing that it was going to be published, all the while wanting to share it with everyone! It eventually reached the shop floor last week! I have a 4 page spread in the in-print magazine and received a copy in the post only yesterday! Below is the layout from the shoot along with some sections from the front cover featuring Amy McDonald and the title page from Iridescent Pop, titled ‘Child’s Play’ in this version.
For the full project and credits from the original shoot please go to my fashion pages. In the mean time if you have £5.00 to spare buy yourself a copy from their online store and enjoy all the other fashion, art and music editorials featured in the magazine.
Just on another note I’m leaving for Japan on Monday and eeek alarm bells ring!! I wont be shooting any fashion or beauty here in the UK for the next year or so instead taking my projects overseas. I am setting up collaborations in Perth, Melbourne, LA and New York whilst we travel. I plan on actively submitting what I shoot as well as feature it in my portfolio on here. I’m really excited about all of this as well as quite simply experiencing the world and having the chance to feed this back into my work. I can’t wait! Please do email or comment on our blog whilst we do all of this!
Enjoy!
