TITLE: Boho Chic / DATE: Spring 2010 / © Helen Roscoe

The concept for this shoot combines a creative collaboration between
designer, photographer and the make up artist. Involving an exciting
collection from young, British designer Beatrice Newman who took
inspiration from the opulence of empires, in particular the royal
family and the book 1001 Arabian nights. The aim of the shoot was
to capture the essence of each of the pieces by placing them out of
context in unusual settings. The Gold jacket and black trousers
express power, the gold dress displays vanity and is set amongst
vacant mannequins preserving their own beauty...the military
leotard cries dominion and in the black fringed dress she becomes
a predator. The model therefore is enabled to become her altered Ego
through each piece worn. Again using the imaginative and creative
work space in the warehouse, this shoot came to life by juxtaposing
fabric with background, purity with mess and textures.
