The life society encourages us to live allows so little time to be kind to ourselves. We self inflict pressure to constantly achieve, physically, socially and emotionally. This evolution occurs so gradually from birth we barely notice. The single hour a week I spend practicing Yoga with Helen allows me time to reflect, relax, breath and be kind to my body. Helen practices gentle, thoughtful yoga inspired by nature and our beautiful seasons, this resonated with me from the outset, I now consider this weekly hour a precious part of my life. Occasionally life gets in the way and I miss a session, which makes me terribly grumpy. Thanks Helen for making me grumpy.

I highly recommend Helen as a yoga instructor. Having always been a person that relaxes by 'doing', the idea of slowing down and focussing on breathing was something that did not come naturally to me. Helen is clearly very skilled in the art of yoga, but she also brings to her instruction a calm containing empathy that really makes you feel like its ok to have a go and learn what works for you. I have been a runner for most of my adult life and one of the things that has surprised me is how much the yoga has sustained my fitness and helped manage my peri-menopausal symptoms.

Myself and my husband had never done yoga before and attended a 5 week course with Helen just before Christmas. It was truly amazing and uplifting.

No matter what sort of day I've had, by the end of Helen's class I'm always calm and happy.

Helen's workshops are a rare and precious opportunity to be curious and explore what's really going on for me personally, so I can, with her support, respond with kindness. Yoga has given me the space to get to know myself at a whole other level, to let go of what isn't useful and practice what is!

I started to practice yoga with Helen when I first moved to the village of Broadbottom in 2016 and have been going to her classes since. I had tried yoga before and found this is the right style for me with emphasis on breathing and movement. The philosophy behind the yoga practice also speaks to me focusing on the moment and stay positive. Helen is a lovely teacher and always ready for a chat about yoga or life in general.

I can say without hesitation, that 1:1 yoga sessions with Helen Roscoe have been incredibly helpful to me; my breathing has become more regulated and is something I have learnt to focus on. Helen has taught me to focus on exercises I find comfortable rather than those that are too challenging. Helen is also continuously assessing my needs and abilities which I find very reassuring. Anyone considering 1:1 yoga sessions with Helen shouldn’t hesitate, take a deep breath (she’ll show you how) and do it.

I recently attended a yoga workshop with Helen. She is so calm, open and knowledgable. A true Yogi. I would highly recommend a class or workshop for anyone interested in finding out more about the amazing benefits of yoga.
