Each pregnancy brings with it unique changes, feelings and experiences.
Yoga during pregnancy is a wonderful way to help cultivate awareness towards the ever-changing pregnant body, whilst deepening the bond and love available for your growing baby.
Nourishing yoga practices taken during pregnancy can assist in revitalising energy levels and in boosting overall mood and confidence. This is explored through guided, mindful postures and pauses designed to help build strength and stamina whilst also reaffirming comfort and a deeper sense of ease through relaxation and breath-centred techniques. The sessions are designed to be supportive, inclusive and act as a pathway towards birth preparation and recovery. You can attend classes from 14 weeks so long as your 14 week scan shows that your pregnancy is progressing normally. If you have any concerns about your pregnancy please consult with your midwife or GP in advance of attending your first yoga session.
I practiced yoga daily during both of my pregnancies and experienced two completely different birthing outcomes. These experiences inspired me to work with other expectant mothers to enable them to connect to their own source of strength, support and confidence during pregnancy and into birth. I undertook my pregnancy yoga training with the very experienced Zoë Martin and am accredited with the Independent Yoga Network.
