I ask that you enjoy and deeply honour yourselves during the time you have set aside to practice yoga! You will be expected to be able to move from the ground up and back down again with ease on your own*. Group classes are not suitable for anyone with a major illness or injury.
Please remember to bring your own mat! You may also find it useful to have other props available such as a cushion and blanket, bolster or block. If you don’t have a yoga mat please contact me in advance and I will provide a clean one for your use.
Move, breathe and find comfort in being still as we draw upon inspiration from nature, creativity and the rich philosophy of yoga.
Gentle Yoga classes are designed to help build strength and increase mobility in a mindful way with the support and nurture of the breath. Starting with a centring practice you will be invited to explore standing postures before gradually taking a mindful route into kneeling, lying and seated postures, completing with short relaxation and meditation. This class is creative and accessible and may include postures with the support of a chair or wall. Starting your week in this way provides the space and time to connect with your ability to focus and remain calm.
No previous experience required.
Monday lunchtime pregnancy yoga classes set in the nurturing space of Orange Bloom Yoga Studio, Hazel Grove.
Explore traditional methods of yoga and self-inquiry whilst learning which postures and pauses will serve you best during your pregnancy, birth and recovery. A wonderful opportunity to build a sense of community with other like-minded expectant mothers whilst sharing personal experiences in a safe and inclusive environment.
All props are provided, including mats, chairs, bolsters and blankets, but you are welcome to bring your own as well as a birthing ball if you have one available to ensure you have a truly accessible, enjoyable and fully nurturing experience.
No prior experience of yoga needed but in order to attend you will need to be at least 14 weeks pregnant and confirm that your pregnancy is progressing normally from your 14 week scan. To find out more about what to expect head over to my Pregnancy During Yoga page.
Yoga for all is open for anyone to attend regardless of experience. You may be completely new to yoga, working with me, or looking for more consistency, or perhaps you only have this one hour to yourself throughout the week to make it to class.
Expect to be reminded of the basic principles of yoga as a practice that can be creative, accessible and enjoyable. Working within your own needs I will introduce you to gentle sequencing, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation so that you can find greater ease and support in being you. All of this will be inspired by yoga philosophy and nature.
No prior experience required.
Deepening the practice of yoga is for anyone looking to explore yoga beyond its physical or energetic components. In these slightly longer sessions there will be more time to delve into the rich tradition of yoga including postures, breath-work (prāṇāyāma), deep relaxation infused with accessible sound-work (mantra), gestures (mudrā) and meditation (dhyāna).
Each course will be informed by a theme taking inspiration from yoga, nature, poetry or art as a means towards embodying (feeling) the practice more fully.
You don’t need to have any prior experience of yoga to attend this class, it is more about being open to exploring the depths of yoga as a whole.
The approach is gentle. A slow pace which I hope enables you to cultivate a quieter form of strength.
Expect all classes to be supported by and integral to the breath and to take the form of a moving meditation. All sessions are taken slowly and mindfully. We begin by settling and tuning into ourselves, relaxing the body and mind and noticing our starting point, so that as we move through the session we have a greater awareness of the positive changes that arise as a result of our practice. Allow these sessions to help with releasing deeply held bodily tensions.
Please check the cancellation policy for your purchase.
